Invitation To Join AUPF's Open Courseware Project

In the recent AUPF held in Malaysia in October, 2013, one of the Standing Committee's decision was to start an AUPF Open Cyber Courseware Project. Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) has been given the task to organize the start-up of this project.

Hence, we would like to extend an invitation to all AUPF members who are interested to join in a meeting that is going to be held in Kuala Lumpur on

7th March or 8th March or 9th March, 2014. The date will be decided once we get feedback from the AUPF members who are interested to come. Once we decide on the date, we will firm up on the logistical preparations and let the members know, accordingly. We hope to have at least six or seven university representatives to get the project started.

Below are the preliminary issues that we will be discussing during the meeting:

- Who are the core members of this project? (And who are the contact persons of the project from each university?)

- What exactly are the underlying objectives of this project as far as AUPF goes?

- What is the position of open cyber courseware usage in member universities?

- What kind of expertise do we currently have amongst member universities?

- What kind of system do we want to develop? (Do we have a model that we want to emulate or benchmark against?)

- Who will buy (or develop) the system?

- What is our budget like?

- Where would the hosting be?

- What are the courses that we want to upload onto the system?

- What kind of workload are we anticipating once the system is up and running?

- Who will maintain the system?

- What kind of administration structure should we establish in order to ensure the sustainability of the system?

- What type of human resource do we need in order to run the system?

- What are our milestones and deadlines?

We hope to hear from you soon.
