Banking

The Ringgit Malaysia (RM) is Malaysia's official currency. Paper notes come in RM100, RM50, RM10, RM5, RM2, and RM1 bills. Coins come in 50-sen, 20-sen, 10-sen, and 5-sen denominations.

Traveller's cheques can be exchanged at banks. Major credit cards are accepted at most major commercial outlets and hotels.

Several banks are located in the centre of Kangar. There are within walking distance from KWSP Building. All of these banks have ATMs installed on premise for convenient banking. You can withdraw cash by using major credit cards.
